-- Backtrack sometime in December ata --
My brother was having several (actually, MANY) friends over from his High School days. No, no, I don't wanna imagine.) and of course, went on a drinking spree, complete with pulutan. We knew his friends, so it was all good. Up until..... they started vomiting all over the place. Craaaaap.
(Well actually, I didn't mind, because I was busy with the computer. More on that later.)
To top it off, my dad and Manang went home at around 12mn (coming from their own respective parties in Makati). And my dad was.... a bit drunk. Of course he wouldn't admit it, but it really is the only explanation for him speaking in straight English and mingling with my brother's friends over at the garage.
My Manang was a bit tired from her own dinner, and she had to endure like an hour-and-a-half worth of continuously repeating questions from my dad (i.e. Nakauwi na ba si Bom? "Opo." after a few minutes Nakauwi na ba si Bom? -- That's the other sure sign he had a drink too many!!), so her patience was running thin. Plus, she had work the next day. But when she heard and saw all the vomiting happening across the house, she really couldn't resist cleaning up after them, trying to control the situation the best she can.. while I was still in front of the computer, oblivious to everything except how verrrry slow our Internet connection was that night (as well as the very audible "TSK TSK" and "HAAAAAY" from my Manang when she goes up and down the stairs).
At one point, I told her to go to bed (this was around 2am). I cannot understand why someone would allow herself to get stressed that much when it's not even her problem to begin with. I mean, I'm sure my brother and his friends would clean up their mess. If not, he'll just have to deal with my mom the morning after - that simple, diba? I don't like meddling in other people's affairs when they don't ask for my help. I was waiting for them to all go safely home, but I had no plans on going downstairs and disrupting their party. They're all of age naman. And as long as they don't do anything extremely stupid and violent in our house, it's all good. Pluuuuus, my Manang gets drunk sometimes too (I'm the only good one in the house, I swear. Hehehehe.), so she should have understood. But anyway, that's not my point..
So the next day, while we were all eating lunch (with my brother still in his bedroom, suffering a hangover), the party came about. And my mom said to me, "Hindi mo ba sila binabaan?" And my surprised reply was "Bakit ko sila bababaan????"
And her hurtful (hahaha, joke lang...) reply was "Wala ka talagang ka-mother-mother instinct."
Crap.
I was not offended at all naman :) I think it pretty much sums me up, in not-so-pleasant-terms nga lang. I care, I really do care. I just don't like meddling, yun lang. If I think you're old enough and if you don't ask for my help, I won't volunteer it. It doesn't mean that I don't care :)
My Manang's like the complete opposite. I'm sick and she'll fuss over me like a mother hen. Naku, ako talaga, hindi ganun.. If you're sick and if I ask you if you need anything or if you're alright, and you'll tell me that you're fine and you don't need anything, I'll leave you alone. I believe in "alone" moments kasi.
So bless me, Lord, I hope I don't make a terrible mom someday huhuhu.

kung minamalas ka nga naman...
So hindi talaga ako nakapasok ngayon kasi may lagnat pa.. Planned to report for work after lunch - akala ko talaga the launch was sometime in the afternoon. But noooo, my teammate texted me to just rest because the launch will be over by lunchtime and the Sales teams would just break out into groups in the afternoon.
Then that same teammate sent me another text message, telling me na sayang daw, wala ako dun kasi andun si Marimar.. model ng (_____). Thanks."
Waaaaahh!!! Endorser ng something else.. Grrrrr. At nakapag-pa-picture si teammate :(
Of all the days na magkakasakit talaga!!! New motto: bawal magkasakit!!

The Devil and Miss Prym
These are two sub-stories in Paulo Coelho's The Devil and Miss Prym. Some of Coelho's works, I did not get to finish, but this one I couldn't put down. The ending was a bit quick for me, considering the many tales that led to it. Nevertheless, one of the more thought-provoking books I've read :)
----
Once, many years ago, a hermit - who later came to be known as St. Savin - lived in one of the caves hereabouts. At the time, Viscos was little more than a frontier post, populated by bandits fleeing from justice, by smugglers and prostitutes, by confidence tricksters in search of accomplices, even by murderers resting between murders. The wickedest of them all, an Arab called Ahab, controlled the whole village and the surrounding area, imposing extortionate taxes on local farmers who still insisted of maintaining a dignified way of life.
One day, Savin came down from his cave, arrived at Ahab's house and asked to spend the night there. Ahab laughed: "You do know that I'm a murderer who has already slit a number of throats, and that your life is worth nothing to me?"
"Yes, I know that," Savin replied, "but I'm tired of living in a cave and I'd like to spend at least one night here with you."
Ahab knew the saint's reputation, which was as great as his own, and this made him uneasy, for he did not like having to share his glory with someone so weak. Thus he determined to kill him that very night, to prove to everyone that he was the one true master of the place.
They chatted for a while. Ahab was impressed by what the saint had to say, but he was a suspicious man who no longer believed in the existence of Good. He showed Savin where he could sleep and then continued menacingly sharpening his knife. After watching him for a few minutes, Savin closed his eyes and went to sleep.
Ahab spent all night sharpening his wife. Next day, when Savin awoke, he found Ahab in tears at his side.
"You weren't afraid of me and you didn't judge me. For the first time ever, someone spent the night by my side trusting that I could be a good man, one ready to offer hospitality to those in need. Because you believed I was capable of behaving decently, I did."
From that moment on, Ahab abandoned his life of crime and set about transforming the region.

When Leonardo da Vinci was creating the Last Supper, he encountered a serious problem: he had to depict Good - in the person of Jesus - and Evil - in the figure of Judas, the friend who resolves to betray him during the meal. He stopped work on the painting until he could find his ideal models.
One day, when he was listening to a choir, he saw in one of the boys the perfect image of Christ. He invited him to his studio and made sketches and studies of his face.
Three years went by. The Last Supper was almost complete, but Leonardo had still not found the perfect model for Judas. The cardinal responsible for the church started to put pressure on him to finish the mural.
After many days spent vainly searching, the artist came across a prematurely aged youth, in rags and lying drunk in the gutter. With some difficulty, he persuaded his assistants to bring the fellow directly to the church, since there was no time left to make preliminary sketches.
The beggar was taken there, not quite understanding what was going on. He was propped up by Leonardo's assistants, while Leonardo copied the lines of impiety, sin and egotism so clearly etched on his features.
When he had finished, the beggar, who had sobered up slightly, opened his eyes and saw the picture before him. With a mixture of horror and sadness he said:
"I've seen that picture before!"
"When?" asked an astonished Leonardo.
"Three years ago, before I lost everything I had, at a time when I used to sing in a choir and my life was full of dreams. The artist asked me to pose as the model for the face of Jesus."
So you see, Good and Evil have the same face; it all depends on when they cross the path of each individual human being.

na-sobrahan naman sa massage..
Today was a real lousy day.. It started out well naman - drove Mommy to SM tapos habang nag-iikot sila ni Tonette, I had a quick 35-minute chair massage sa isang spa dun.. Huhu. Bumaba rin lagnat ko then went up again.. I don't like staying in bed man for an entire day :( Is there such a thing as massage overdose??
Nakakainis kasi feeling ko di ako papayagan nila Mama pumasok bukas.. Meron akong deliverables!! :( At at at, launch bukas ng all-new Sunsilk range (bukas na naman ang event so hindi na masama na i-press release ko dito...) eh dapat andun ako to "cover" the event at syempre, para makakuha ng gift packs!!! Huhuhu. First time ko dapat makakuha ng ganun eh :( Sana, please please, makapasok ako.

random thoughts
Don't you love people na hindi mo naman kabarkada in the strictest sense pero nakakausap mo about anything? :) I love them :) Siguro every stage of my life - High School, College, and in my past 2 jobs - meron akong ganun.
My dad, who prides himself on being very modern.. Kaya mas nakakainis. Kasi parang hypocritical in a sense.
---------------------
Feeling ko there's something wrong with my faith. Kasi like I asked Jai, kung may makasalubong siyang stranger na walang religion and is looking for the "best" one or a stranger na nag-iisip mag-convert, would he endorse Islam? Oo agad ang sagot. Ako siguro I'll have second thoughts on Catholicism. Aaarrgghh. Ewan. Like, I don't get the point of confession. You can atone naman for your sins in silence, what's important is what's in your heart and not what you say out loud. At basta. I want to be more discerning of the things that I do and not just follow blindly to practices that are practically shoved down my throat.

I have mixed feelings about my previous job. Marami akong nagawa dun na sobrang in-my-dreams lang dati, marami akong na-meet na super-bait na tao, pero feeling ko na-rob off niya ako ng konting life ko. Hehehe. I mean, now, I get to read books ulit! Dati walang time. But I'm glad I had it for a time.
---------------------
Pwede pala umutot habang natutulog? Seryoso. I mean, kahit tulog yung tao, pwede pa rin siya umutot. At mabaho pa talaga. Akala niyo cute si Tonette ha.... Hahaha.
---------------------
It might be about you, my other friends, my family - as in, pramis.
